Opted to have some fun with change of surfaces. Grass , gravel, pebbles, back to grass. This area had no puddles…a perk for me.

Negatives or challenges for Duck were that high traffic kid play, and dog pee area due to posts and equipment.

I put a lot of food on the first leg and only leg, before and after moving into the gravel and more after going over the plastic border back into the grass.

I used his long line as it’s easier for me to not trip over it. The 10 foot one is just a hazard for me.

Outcome:

Duck was so happy to have his harness on and he enjoyed this track.

Nice down on the wet grass for the start. Thought it’d go well, so I stepped out and he veered off. Enticed by other smells? Then he got back to the track and he did a nice left turn but I held him back, regretted that immediately. (Mental lapse, as I recalled that the dog doesn’t have to do a perfect right angle turn at the exact turn…ughh!) Lucky for me that Duck just went forward and at the turn he did the left turn and continued. He looked for and got food drop at the surface change. Quickly went through the pebble gravel after checking out the edge of border fencing. Then, he went over the plastic border and back into the grass…looked for his food drop… heard a dog bark, paused. Continued on and we got jerked to a halt. The line got wedged into a gap in the plastic border. Duck came closer to me while I pulled it out and went back to the track. He downed for his article which was plastic.

Tucker Park, over 70F , and not Duck’s kind of weather. He had a lot of water before the track. Just a 2 turn short leg track each leg 50-60 yds that ended up with going through mud and across a grave

Duck ran a 7 article track at Tucker park after tracking class. He was enthusiastic and the clover isn’t out yet so he tracked to each one and enjoyed turkey meatball reward. He had so much fun and it
