61F, very windy & gusty so single right turn track of 150 yards total length. Track runs along tree line to block the wind. Right turn went thru break in trees.

S8W16F8 with extra food into and out of turn .

Goal: staying on our track line and improving my recognition of Duck taking turn. Adding on some track distance for our conditioning.

Need to work on: I need better line handling as I use a wider line with Duck. I need to stay behind him if he wanders off the direct track path.

Done well:

  1. Quick down indication without prompting for start and end articles.

  2. Found his turn and did a definitive pull into that turn.

  3. Managed to work through the leaves to find his track and food drops. These slowed him a little.

Nicely cleared stated observations of what you liked and great job using the space you had! Looks like he worked through some decent challenges - gusty winds, cars/road on one side, tree line on the other, etc. From your description of his handling these, sounds like you picked a good augmentation pattern to make it reinforcing.
