10/18, 10/19/2025 Basics …Down Indication work

Did article exercises at Hidden Rock park and near Bette Weaver school.

Put out the 10 articles in a line as Duck needs more rapid and automatic down indication. Took him through three times each day. Initially he was slow, and was more interested in the hawk flying above but finally he improved. I think the yummy food helped. He hasn’t had hot dogs in a long time.

Now, he downs but started standing up and downing again, I gave him more food . Then I took to taking a small baby step to move him along, which did work but I decided that was a bad thing as it’d be guiding so then I opted to tell him to go track.

I feel we made progress and have more reliable downs so we will try this exercise or another article one in a few days.
