3/25/23 Tucker Park

54F, cloudy, high humidity 90+%

Duck is always excited to track here. We haven't been here a lot this season, so we did a stair step type track of 450 yds. Only scuff 5 from start then walki the rest. I did add a hit fpdog food drop miming the middle of each leg. I was curious if he'd pay a lot of attention to it and if ants would be all over. So, no ants and Duck did actively search out and turn to get the chicken hot dog piece.

He downed for start and end articles. He got distracted by the dead animal body and dropped to roll in the stink. I had to go to him and push him off. This did require a serious bath, not just rinse off and his collar, harness and line were all covered in stick....ughhh. On the positive side, he did go right back to tracking my scent. So, I'm giving up on seeking out distractions for the foreseeable future. He was not phased at all by the human cross track, just head raise and continued on. This cross track was conveniently placed by 2 walkers, no dogs (small miracle) just before I laid the track, so I positioned my track to hit the cross track mid leg before the end article. Overall, he worked very consistently on the track and I slowed or stopped when he picked up his head and his tail didn't showing his tracking style wag or flick. If he wanders off to check out scent, he does pull back on to the track line and it usually happens with his right turn.
