Planned to do stair step or modified version at new location....visiting NJ. Spaces was tighter than expected from google maps, so not really open field. But, Duck has worked in area with pavement path, curb and fence.

What did I learn....when bringing Duck to a new tracking area, he needs to wander a bit before doing a track, which was what I did. Then at the start, he behaved the same as for every other track, and headed right down the track from the flag and article (down indicated). He crossed the pavement path with zero hesitation. At first turn, he sniffed the air, but put his nose down and did the turn nicely. He also tracked and passed the wood landscaping curb edge. Little kid and mom approached and wanted to pet him. I told him to wait, moved leash from harness and then he got pets. He wasn't interested and I knew he wanted to be on his track, so we thanked them and I switched his leash back to harness. He went right along and the small fencing didn't bother him. Downed for his article. Looks like we were in woods, but not an accurate photo, as we were still in grass and mud.
