S5 W40 F20 cloudy; 69F , short grass with mix of damp and small portion of swampy.

Laid a long track for my little man. First time back at this park since spring/summer. He was not interested in picking up the food drops, which were hotdogs. He was interested in investigating a lot of smells on the field. To his credit he did check out and leave the area of massive rabbit poop and where a golfer had been hitting shots. On the first leg, he was not as focused as usual. So, we will be doing start exercises for him tomorrow as well as with River. And, he will get more frequent food to try to maintain track turn focus. He knows where the turns are and I see him lifting his head and then going to check out other smells. Funny, I noticed River lift her head and glance to the turn then continue past, but correct back on to the turn did more quickly than Duck did today.

On the positive side, Duck thoroughly enjoyed the long track and it was only after the first leg and at the turns that he didn't stay on the track line. That sounds pretty bad but he is incredibly excited on the track path.

I love his enthusiasm and after he downed for indication at the end article and got his food, he jumped up to hug me.

Also, I got a different harness with a stationary attachment on his back and two connection straps around his rib cage. This one just feels is much better.

Plan: doing starts with long first leg.
