10/10: Hidden Rock Park 48 F, partly cloudy

Duck did a short distraction track after I voted this past Tuesday. I was armed with hot dogs and put a lot down on the 10 ft strip. Nearby people, cars and election signs in ground. He was good, just glancing to the people, but hot dogs and track won out. No wind so no sign movement and they didn't bother him.

At Hidden Rock, I put in a top hat type track, multiple 90 degree turns and final open angle turn. No scuff, but I did walk and skip with food @ 40 .

Downed for start and end. This time I did notice that on the track the tip of his tail was more relaxed and doing a little flick. When he stops or picks up his head, I am stopping. He then changes direction, but if I remain still, he will either pull more forcibly, so I know that's the actual track or he will spin in the other direction and put his nose down, pull into the line, not random wander, so that tells me he is on the track. Since I do know the track layout, I see he is playing games with me at 90 degree turns, as usually he will investigate a wrong direction and then correct. While I am recognizing what he's doing, I feel it's not good that he's doing this.

Positive note is that he is not completely dragging me down the track this year. he has an energetic and excited demeanor.

Not positive but maybe I need tracks with food drops after turns to tighten up his turns.
