Laid track after Rally class. S8 W29 F10 and big change was using a long line. Rationale was that it's thinner than the 15 ft one which seemed to wide and bulky for her compared to Duck.

Did 2 tracks and probably longer than I should have done with her. This is really 1st time for this overall length. First one was right 90 and then left 90. Second was single right 90 turn. I was looking to see how she'd do with a long first leg. Nice start with a down and then she did go right on the track but I let the line out and she seemed to sense that she was on a different line, and paused, lifted her head, turned and looked with nostrils flaring to the right which is where the rest of the track was laid. I stood still and she started to circle and wander. Honestly the last time that she was on such a long line was when she was a puppy. Since I didn't move or give her more line, each time she can in closer I shortened up the line, she decided to quit her air scenting and follow the track.

She got the right turn close and on the second leg she doing a lot of being just off the side of the actual track. She was raising her head when on the track line and I didn't want to stop moving as she was on the track.

She went out past the left turn and coursed out to the right but went back to the left on the track. Once she seems to hone in on the article she lefts her head higher, but she does politely down to indicate the article. No food, I fed from my hand on the article.

On the second track she did check out on the side from the start which is probably do to me not leaving enough distance before I put down the start article. She smelled my approach from the side. She worked on the first leg off to the side of the track by 1-2 ft, and went out past the turn to sniff a stray garbage bag, then went directly to a right turn on the track. Pedestrian was walking on the road as we approached this turn, but she ignored the person. Again, she went to the article and as she got near, lifted her head. She continues to have a down indication even without food in the article.

I loved how she actually transitioned from thinking she was romping on a longline to working her track. My mistake...giving her such baking track.

Plan for tomorrow....doing start 90 degree tracks to get her to continue working out of the start area. I will also add more ferequent food.
