Start tracks with left turns

41F, 57% humidity, 3mph wind,5 mph gusts, cloudy, short dry grass but underlying soil was damp.

Goal was to practice handling for left turns, watching River LOS & recovery

She does tend to check right but I feel more confident noticing when her head comes up from the track and then when her head and body pull to indicate she’s back on the track. On T4 she sat briefly but I just stood and she went back to tracking. On T1 & T2 she moved much more quickly with less food. We played fetch for a few throws btw the tracks and a lot after the final which really has her enthusiasm up!

Top hat track laid by Betty. Had one blind turn, the others were marked with low flags. This felt pretty good and I kept calm even at the blind turn. Determine to watch River for LOS and investigating

Sorry I keep referring to River as a boy. SHE did a really good job.

Maureen all those tracks looked lovely to me. You have a good start routine and River knows it. He starts really well. Watching him on the left turns, I can see sometimes he checks right; sometimes briefly, and sometimes not at all. He is all business when on the track. I don’t think he ever lifts his head! His article indication is great. I like how you are staying close and allowing him to lean into his harness. Lovely job!
