Track in Powhatan park area of housing development with gravel path throughout.

Practiced change of surface from grass to gravel with food drops before and after crossing gravel path. Track used 3 left turns and 3 surface changes. Breeze blowing across the longer first leg and last leg of track in 64 F, sunny day.

River hesitated to down at the start. Ok, will work some article exercises. She did down indicate mid track for an article that I accidentally dropped when laying track. Also, downed immediately at end article.

She worked at a nice pace throughout and only ate one of the food drops at the surface changes. She occasionally checked the ground and air a little off of the track. But, I could tell when she pulled harder as she followed the track. At least I have confidence in feeling her change of movement on the actual track compared to distraction sniffing movements. I’m going to try to let the line play out especially on turns. Next we will do start tracks, article work.

Top hat track laid by Betty. Had one blind turn, the others were marked with low flags. This felt pretty good and I kept calm even at the blind turn. Determine to watch River for LOS and investigating
