River no scuff, W60F30; weather challenge as misty rain, 46F, and ground was wet grass weeds and puddles.

Did long first leg and I actually walked around the edge of a huge puddle and then went back to the straight line of the track. Wondered what River would do. She followed my track path exactly! She went out beyond the turn 5-7 ft. But she turns or head comes up so I stop. She reorients and moved back towards me. I step back 5 steps and she cut in front of me and did the left turn . She did find food on the track. She found the open angle turn right away. Turned out the weather did not phase River, so that was an unexpected surprise especially as I did not have a fleece jacket on her.

I'm trying to really pay attention to turns. How she moves differently and how she recovers when taking the wrong direction initially. She doesn't do that very much, but I'd like to be able to help her. I feel her less when she is off the track, but it's such a slight difference that I'm hoping I can be focused enough to pick up on it in tracking certification tracks and later the actual TD test.

Tomorrow I think we will do turn focus, maybe on stair step track.

Top hat track laid by Betty. Had one blind turn, the others were marked with low flags. This felt pretty good and I kept calm even at the blind turn. Determine to watch River for LOS and investigating
