Since the bitter cold is over & I now have a properly working vehicle, River & I did some tracks.
T1-T3; S5W16F8; two right and one left 90 degree turns. Did scuffs I. And out of the turns.
Still…Working on keeping her in the straight track and finding the true turns.
Positives: She down indicates for the article, and is chugging along the track nicely with turning around to get missed hot dog pieces. She stayed on the straight track….except for T3 start she was trying to head out on diagonal, not straight on the track. . Not sure if this is related to the angle of approach. She did well with the turns. Especially the left turn on T2. On T3 she tried to short cut the right turn, but I didn’t go with her and she circled around in front of me, short leash so her movement was limited. After a few circles, she went forward, passing the turn but them there was loss of scent behavior and she found the track right turn. Given this, I am inclined to not scuff into the turn in our next track.
Throwing the ball as a reward for finding the article is working out well. She downs and I am trying not to deliver reward too soon so that she maintains a down position.
She looks great. Please bring a 20’ line to class Tuesday. Our eye teeth for you to have a chest mount for your phone……
