Hidden Rick park for distance track with one turn and dropped article just over halfway down the longer first leg. I hoped that the article on the track instead of using food would keep River on the track instead of checking out to the left and right.

Positives:

At the start River was cold, shivering but not from excitement and I probably should have had a fleece on her.

She had a nice start with the article and I am trying to be smoother with my article pickup and tucking it in my vest to minimize too much quick line pressure on her.

She chugged along and dropped for the article. She stood up and was waiting for me to go in a pocket for her ball but I said find more and she put her nose down and continued on the track.

Nice tight left turn and then quickly to the end article.

No video, handler error starting the recording.

I was trying to follow the directions given at the last class, no food mid leg and if I give food, do it only on one leg.

On this track I gave her food at the article bc I didn’t think doing fetch would be wise as she had more of the track to do.

Sounds like a good outing. Just curious but did she get any treats at the intermediary article? If you get out again before class, I'd be inclined to do something easy, fun, and with reinforcement.
